Philadelphia Eagles'
Stat Of The Week

Eagles rookie defensive tackle Corey Simon recorded his fifth sack of the season, the most since Mike Mamula had 5 ½ in 1995. The Eagles also have not scored a first quarter touchdown since opening day in Dallas.
Late Game Giveaway By McNabb
Gives Redskins A Victory, 17-14.

What more can be said than that Donovan McNabb made the biggest mistake of his young career. The pass which was caused by a blitzing Redskin defense forced McNabb out of the pocket and it appeared that he was only trying to throw the ball away. The problem? Redskins' 20 year veteran Darryl Green was waiting for the ball and when he intercepted the football with 32 seconds left. he ran down inside the Eagles 20 yard line and one play later, Michael Husted booted the gamewinning field goal and the Redskins win 17-14 and now share first place with the Giants. The Eagles fall to 3-3 and go to Arizona next week to play the Cardinals where they have lost 5 straight now. As bad as that McNabb play was, the same could be said about Damon Moore's fumble. The Eagles winning 14-7 in the forth quarter, the Redskins were driving down the field and were deep in Eagles' territory. moore intercepted a Brad Johnson pass at the 7 yard line and then fumbled. Washington then scored the tying touchdown a few playes later.

This game between long time rivals was a game of big plays and big phantom plays. With under 5 minutes left in the game, it appeared that Eagles forced another Deion Sanders fumble deep in Redskins' territory on a punt return. The Redskins challenged the call and won, though it sure looked like a fumble and replays were inconclusive, meaning the Eagles should have been awarded the ball on the 20 yard line. Then after McNabb was intercepted with 32 seconds left, the next play. Stephen Davis was tackled and he fumbled. The refs missed the call and no replay was allowed since it was unreviewable and the Eagles could not call for a review with under 2 minutes left in the game. the Eagles defense again played great after allowing the Redskins to drive down the field on their first possession and score a touchdown. The Eagles have now held teams to only 33 points in their last 4 games, with only one touchdown drive which was not aided by a turnover. Donovan McNabb will lean from this bad mistake and hopefully he will not do it again.

HOW THEY SCORED
REDSKINS 7 0 0 10 - 17
EAGLES 0 7 0 7 - 14

Other Eagles' Highlights From Sunday's 17-14 Loss

Eagles Ike Reese and Brian Mitchell hit Deion Sanders as he fumbles on this punt return in first quarter.

Cornerback Troy Vincent makes the play by breaking up this pass during the second quarter.
Eagles wideout Charles Johnson the tying TD in the second quarter. It was 30 yard pass from Donovan McNabb. Brian McNabb is sacked anhe also fumbles on this play early in the game. McNabb finished the day 18 for 35 and 2 INTs. The last one occurred in the last minute of the game and led to the Redskins winning the game. The game should have at least gone into OT.
