Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid walks the sidelines during the game
against the Seattle Seahawks Monday. The Eagles lost 42-0 and this game
was by far the worst game in Andy Reid's career. The loss dropped the Eagles
to 5-7, clinching their first season with single-digit wins since 1999. They
also became the 10th team in NFL history to go 0-3 on Monday Night Football.

Philadelphia Eagles' Stat Of The Week
The 42-0 loss last night against the Seattle Seahawks was their worst
hhome loss in over 43 years. They lost to the Green Bay Packers 49-0
on November 11, 1962. Consequently, that was the last time the Eagles
also lost to the Packers at home. The Eagles last game at home against
the Seattle Seahawks was back in 1998 to open the season. They lost that
game 38-0, so they are a combined 80-0 losers against the Seahawks in
their last 2 trips to Philadelphia. The Eagles, who were outscored
14-0 in the first quarter last night, now have been outscored 90-38
in the first quarter for the season. This game was also the worst
shutout loss on Monday Night Football. The previous worst was a 41-0
49ers win over the Bears in 1987. Lastly, this was the first game since
1970 that the Eagles allowed at least 2 touchdowns for returns in a game.
By the way, Seattle had THREE!!

On Reggie White Tribute Night, Eagles,
Laid The Biggest Of Eggs In 42-0 Loss.
‘Tis the 20th night before Christmas as the Eagles celebrated the retirement of the
greatest defensive lineman in NFL history. That man was the late great “Reggie White.”
On a cold, wintry night in South Philly, the Eagles lost 42-0 and all hope of returning
to the playoffs has now unofficially ended. On a night with many of Reggie White’s old
teammates and his old coach, Buddy Ryan there to celebrate his #92 forever, the Eagles
put on a performance for the ages. This is as ugly as it gets. Is that Reggie rolling
over in his grave puking his guts up? We stayed around until about 7 minutes gone in
the third quarter. The Eagles should give a refund to everyone in attendance for this
sorry excuse of a NFL game.
It all started with an apparent interception by Quintin Mikell in the end zone after
Matt Hasselback led the Seattle Seahawks on a long opening drive, which stalled at
the Eagles 6-yard line. A bad penalty for illegal contact was called on Trotter (one
of many bad calls that went against the Eagles). New life and on 3rd and now 11, the
Seattle QB had over 8 seconds to find a wide open Bobby Engram in the end zone. Only
8:10 of the clock had expired so far, but it was already the beginning of the end.
And the end came very quickly on this cold, snowy night. On the Eagles first possession,
Mike McMahon drove the Eagles nicely for over 30 yards and 3 first downs. On play 9,
McMahon tried to force a pass to Greg Lewis, but Andre Dyson outfought Lewis for the
ball and proceeded to out run everybody for a 72-yard TD return. Then just minutes
later, McMahon threw another ill-advised pass to L.J. Smith, who never really had a
chance in hell to catch the ball. Lofa Tatupu intercepted the pass and scored from 38
yards out to make the score 21-0; and the fans booed!!
This night was supposed to be remembered as #92 night. What happened next will add to
make this one of the most unbearable games in Eagles team history ever. After another
sloppy possession with McMahon at QB, Andy Reid gave him the hook to the total delight
of the crowd. In came Koy Detmer and 2 Eagles plays and 1 Seahawks play later, it was
28-0 on another INT. This time, it was Michael Boulware, who was tackled on the 2-yard
line. And finally just before the half, Seattle made the score 35-0 as Stephen Alexander
did most of the work as he scored another rushing TD. It also tied the Eagles longest
halftime deficits in their history. Seattle piled up a measly 151 total yards, but had
35 points. Last year, when the Eagles were destroying the Green Bay Packers 35-3 at
the half, they had 295 total yards. In reality the score should read: Eagles Offense
(minus 21) to Eagles Defense 14. The offense was not done gift-wrapping another TD on
the very first play of the second half. This time it was not a QB bumble, but a Ryan
Moats careless fumble that Andre Dyson picked up and returned it for 25 yards and
another TD. Seattle now had a dominating 42-0 lead.
How the hell do you simply give 28 points away in the manor that the Philadelphia Eagles
offense did last night. I’ve seen points on turnovers before, but 28 points on returns
alone (OK 21), but the other one ended on the 2-yard line where my dead grandmother
could score. Not only was this ridiculous, it was totally embarrassing. It was the
whitewash of all whitewashes. A snow job or simply put, the Eagles were SNOWBALLED!
McMahon is now in good company as the last Eagles QB to have 2 INT’s returned for
touchdowns were Norm Snead way back in 1966. I was only 2 years old then. What more
can be said or can write; nothing. But I will post a few more embarrassing stats below
in time. And to think I thought the Eagles were going to win this week and then I would
be allowed to buy a ticket against the Giants next week. Ah-ha!!!?

The results are in, and the news is not good for running back Brian
Westbrook. The results of an MRI came back late Tuesday afternoon,
and the tests revealed that Westbrook has a Lis Franc sprain in his
right foot. He will miss the remainder of the season.
