Philadelphia Eagles' Stats Of The Week
The Philadelphia Eagles won their last 3 games for the first time since 1993.
That year they also finished at 8-8, when Rich Kotite coached the team. The
Buffalo Bills finished the season at 7-9, their 8th straight season out of the
playoffs. Donovan McNabb completed passes to 10 Eagles, the first time that's
happened since Jim McMahon did against the Cowboys in 1991. Kevin Curtis' seven
receptions gave him 77 for the season, 7th most in franchise history. Among
wide outs, only Irving Fryar and Fred Barnett had more in a season. Curtis
finished the year with 1,110 receiving yards. Reggie Brown's 83 yards gave him
780 this season. The Bills had 4 sacks, which means the Eagles allowed 49, their
most since the 1999 team gave up 49 sacks too. Marshawn Lynch's 56-yd run was the
longest the Eagles allowed in 24 yards, since Travis Henry of the Titans had a
70-yarder for a TD last November. Westbrook (90), Curtis (77) and Brown (61) became
the Eagles first trio in 23 years with 60 or more catches. In 1984, John Spagnula (65),
Montgomery (61) and Mike Quick (60) all reached 60. The Eagles committed just 83
penalties, their fewest since they had 77 in 1984. The Eagles converted 42.4 percent
of their third downs breaking the franchise record of 42.1 set last year. Jon Runyan's
176th consecutive regular-season start lasted just 2 plays. Runyan, who owns the NFL's
third longest active streak of consecutive starts (behind Brett Favre's 252 and Derrick
brooks' 191), suffered a concussion and did not return. Winston Justice finished the
game at right tackle. Lastly, Kevin Curtis became the first player in NFL history
to recover his own team's fumble for a touchdown in consecutive games. Only two
players had two such recoveries in the same season - Ahmad Rashad of the Bills
in 1974 and Del Rodgers of the Packers in 1982.

Special "New England Patroits" Record Stats
With their 38-35 win over the New York Giants gave the Patriots a final
16-0 record, the first perfect regular season record in the NFL since the 14-0
Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins ultimately went 16-0 and won the Super Bowl, 14-7
over the Washington Redskins. The only other perfect teams were the 1934 Bears
and 1942 Bears. The Bears lost both title games; 30-13 against the Giants in 1934
at the Polo Grounds and 14-6 against the Redskins in 1942 at Washington's old
Griffith Stadium. Patriots QB Tom Brady broke the NFL-record of Peyton
Manning for most touchdown passes in a season, by throwing his 49th and 50th
scoring passes, both to Randy Moss. Lastly, those two TD receptions by Randy
Moss (his 22nd & 23rd) also broke the single season record held by the 49ers
Jerry Rice.
