** Special Note ** ~ Beginning with 1933 season, because of a tie for first place at the end
of the 1932 season, the NFL reorganized into two divisions and instituted the NFL Championship
game pitting each division champion against each other to crown an NFL champion. The homefield
for the Championship would alternate every year, starting with the Western Division in the
1933 season. The Eastern Division then would be home on all even years. The NFL welcomed
three new teams that would begin play in the 1933 season:
• Pittsburgh Pirates
• Cincinnati Reds
• PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
